Immunomodulatory actions of vitamin D in various immune-related disorders: a comprehensive review

نویسندگان

چکیده

For many years, vitamin D has been acknowledged for its role in maintaining calcium and phosphate balance. However, recent research assessed immunomodulatory come up with conflicting conclusions. Because the receptor is expressed a variety of immune cell types, study into precise this molecule diseases, notably autoimmune disorders, made possible. The physiologically activated version also promotes tolerogenic immunological condition addition to modulating innate acquired responses. According number studies, important micronutrient plays complex numerous biochemical pathways system disorders that are associated them. Research field still relatively new, some studies claim patients severe illnesses frequently have deficiencies or insufficiencies. This review seeks clarify most on D’s system-related roles, including pathophysiology major disorders.

A comprehensive review on vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphism in immune-related diseases with emphasis on dermatologic disorders

There are many immune mediated disorders with the corroborated role of vitamin D or Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) gene polymorphisms in their pathogenesis, immunologic regulation, and disease characteristics. Therefore, in this review, we searched PubMed data base in regard to the role of VDR gene polymorphisms in common autoimmune disorders, emphasizing on dermatologic diseases.

The implication of vitamin D and autoimmunity: a comprehensive review.

Historically, vitamin D has been associated with the regulation of bone metabolism. However, increasing evidence demonstrates a strong association between vitamin D signaling and many biological processes that regulate immune responses. The discovery of the vitamin D receptor in multiple immune cell lineages, such as monocytes, dendritic cells, and activated T cells credits vitamin D with a nov...

Vitamin D immunomodulatory potential in multiple sclerosis.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of unknown etiology whose treatment is of limited efficiency and therefore has a high social burden. As it has been suggested that myelin destruction model, the clinical manifestation and the potential of therapeutic response in MS are correlated, it is quite justifiable that we study various factors (genetic, hormonal, environmental) that take p...

The pleiotropic actions of vitamin D Mini - review

General knowledge of the role of vitamin D3 in human physiology has been shaped by its discovery as a preventive agent of nutritional rickets, a defect in bone development due to inadequate uptake of dietary calcium. Studies on the function of the biologically active vitamin D3, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, have been greatly accelerated by the molecular cloning and structural analysis of the vitam...

Nonclassic actions of vitamin D.

CONTEXT Vitamin D receptors are found in most tissues, not just those participating in the classic actions of vitamin D such as bone, gut, and kidney. These nonclassic tissues are therefore potential targets for the active metabolite of vitamin D, 1,25(OH)(2)D. Furthermore, many of these tissues also contain the enzyme CYP27B1 capable of producing 1,25(OH)(2)D from the circulating form of vitam...
